Coleccion de Musica Virreinal

(8’) compiled by Baltasar Martínez y Compañón (Perú) in 1783, clearly reflects a striking contrast between the music in Perú and the music in Europe during Mozart’s time. Colección de Música Virreinal is accompanied in the concert hall by visual images of the watercolors that Martínez y Compañón painted himself, giving concertgoers the experience of hearing and “seeing” the colonial way of life. The three dances included here are: Baile de Danzantes, Baile del Chimo and Lanchas para Bailar. Published by FILARMONIKA.
